Via Ferrata in Squamish, BC, Canada

Halfway between Vancouver, BC and Whistler, BC is a place called Squamish. Usually, people just head straight on up to Whistler for its incredible ski resort and snow. If you try stopping by Squamish at a place called the "Sea to Sky Gondola" you can enjoy a day climbing granite rocks on the Via Ferrata (which is Italian for "iron road"). Not easy for first timers like myself and not for the faint of heart. Fear of heights? Forget about it. If you're in good shape, you're good to go. If you have a desk job like me, it could prove to be very challenging.

This was my first chance to stop and take a photo.

The path has stemples (iron rungs) and a steel cable where you attach two carabiners. Every few feet you end up hitting a point where the steel cable is affixed to the rock. At this point you would unhook your carabiner and re-hook again (one at a time) in order to continue on your way.

Here's another nice view of a distant peak.

This path is not even close to being the hardest bit, but looks interesting enough.

It can get quite steep in parts.

Oh good, the final path to salvation. My muscles are are on fire and my heart is trying to push its way out my chest at this point.

Since I was too busy trying not to fall on the vertical parts, I don't have any pictures. But here's a link to their website https://www.seatoskygondola.com/adventures/via-ferrata.

Have fun in British Columbia!
