Busy day and a couple of jobs done on motorbikes.

Happy weekend anyone that stops by.

The KTM GS 300 is a nightmare bike to buy parts for.

The chain tensioner ripped itself apart last ride, so I ordered a new old one that was "supposed" to fit.

Well it did not, so rather than return it, I measured it twice, and drilled once. And made it fit instead.

After.

Next up were fork seals on the Montesa cota 348. Unsure why people shy away from doing fork seals, it is only a 30 minute job, and service places charge a small fortune for doing such a simple job.

1 allen bolt on the bottom of each fork after draining old fork oil, then remove a circlip above the seals on both fork legs. And pop out the twin seals with a blunt instrument, and voila.

Now I await the new seals and cleaned the seal seats today.

Then it was onto preparing the KE 125 Kawasaki to go back together for the first time in 40 years.

It has been sat in someones garage minus a piston for that long.

Surface preparation first and piston size check, all good on both fronts.

A very very thin smear of gasket goo or sealant, and leave over night to cure.

Preparation is key to any build, so clean surfaces that mate are a must.

I did do a lot more than that, but with hands covered in oil picking up the Nikon camera was the last thing on my mind.

This is how the old Montesa sits, until the parts arrive this week (fingers crossed) to finish her off.

That is all for today, wishing you a perfectly pleasant Sunday, and happy week ahead.
