I've moved here to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii nearly 15 years ago. Moving from the mainland (CA, & WA) and have gone through a nasty divorce, I as a single mother thought hhhhmmm......Hawaii would be a great place to raise my 9 year old son. So, without any question or doubt, we packed our 2 backpacks and moved here to be with my older sister and her two children. She also was a single widowed mother to two very young children.
Despite the hand that was delt to both of us, we inspired and encouraged each other to be happy and raise our children in this place we call PARADISE. Now, 15 years later and our children are pretty much on their own and seeking their individual goals in life, we still are so very Grateful for this place of healing, warmth, love, and acceptance. I will forever be grateful for the "Mana" or Power if you will, that gave us the motivation to keep on keepin on.
I come from a rich Hawaiian heritage with a culture and heritage unlike any other. Our ancestors survived through the most treacherous times traveling by foot, hunting and fishing and fighting with their bare hands and homemade weapons.
Life is AMAZING and so different than what it was when we moved here long ago. The land, ocean, mountains and waterfalls never change. I now know how they were able to continue on in life, by living in this special place I now call HOME.
