Mother's day

In different parts of the world, mother's day is celebrated on different days. Right here, we celebrate mother's day today.

History has shown that women were generally marginalised and this still holds true today in some parts of the world.

When I was growing up I found out that having a girl child and no male child puts a woman at a disadvantage in her home especially with her in-laws. And she's so unfortunate to have a husband who do not care about the biology of the chromosomes that are responsible for a male child then then woman is screwed.

A male child is considered special and given a pride of place once born and the woman who gives birth to a male child is showered with gifts. A male child considered a warrior, hence, in announcing his birth there is a call for guns while the female child is considered a bride and her birth announcement is a call for money.

Although today people are more enlightened but tradition still holds strong.

Mother's day is the day no one cares if you gave birth to a male or a female child. It's a celebration of motherhood. That one day a mother can expect to be treated like a queen.

Wouldn't it be great to have mother's day every day?😊
