Not much is left of the original moorland in the north of Bremen near Worpswede. But some corners have been spared from peat cutting. Other areas ran full of water again after peat cutting ended in 2012 and are under nature conservation. So the landscape is more "close to nature" than still pristine, untouched moor.
Viel ist nicht übrig geblieben von der ursprünglichen Moorlandschaft im Norden von Bremen bei Worpswede. Aber einige Ecken sind vom Torfabbau verschont geblieben. Andere Flächen liefen nach dem Ende des Torfabbaus 2012 wieder mit Wasser voll und stehen unter Naturschutz. Die Landschaft ist also eher "naturnah" als noch ursprüngliches, unberührtes Moor.
But it is beautiful. It has remained largely untouched for years. The colors that the moor produces with its typical plants are unique. I took these photos in late October 2021; it was mostly cloudy. In no case have I increased the color saturation. Still, on the contrary, I have reduced the higher color values, which result from some processing steps from Camera RAW to JPEG, to keep the initial impression. The bog has strong and vivid colors.
Aber sie ist schön. Sie ist seit Jahren weitgehend unberührt geblieben. Das Moor bringt mit seinen typischen Pflanzen ungewöhnliche Farben hervor. Diese Fotos sind Ende Oktober 2021 entstanden, es war meistens bewölkt. In keinem Fall habe ich die Farbsättigung erhöht sondern im Gegenteil die höheren Farbwerte, die bei manchen Bearbeitungsschritten von Camera RAW zu JPEG entstehen, wieder reduziert, um den ursprünglichen Eindruck zu erhalten. Das Moor hat starke und kräftige Farben.
However, I shot with a moving camera and relatively slow shutter speeds. This reduces the details, highlights the dominant colors, and gives the landscape the movement and dynamism that is otherwise frozen in a tiny fraction of a second. We perceive with our eyes the constant, gentle movement of leaves, branches, and grasses. That is why I brought them back into the picture. My goal was to reproduce the emotional impression of the moor landscape.
Allerdings habe ich mit bewegter Kamera und sehr langen Verschlusszeiten fotografiert. Das reduziert die Details, hebt die dominanten Farben hervor und gibt der Landschaft die Bewegung und Dynamik zurück, die sonst im dem winzigen Bruchteil einer Sekunde eingefroren wird. Wir nehmen mit unserem Auge die ständige, sanfte Bewegung von Blättern, Ästen und Gräsern war. Deshalb habe ich sie ins Bild zurückgeholt.
