What is AKASHA?

AKASHA , for Advanced Knowledge Architecture for Social Human Advocacy is the newest decentralized social network. The alpha version has just been released in early 2017. It was created by Mihai Alisie (creator of Bitcoin magazine and co-founder of Ethereum), and aims to become the new social media network, free from the constraints of the old . Akasha also means ether in Sanskrit. This term translates the ancestral lineage of Akasha that connects spirits as the ether of the ancients was supposed to connect souls. But it also reflects the technological background of Akasha. Indeed Akasha is based among otherEthereumandIPFS(Inter-Planetary File System). Vitalik Buterin and Juan Benet (creator of IPFS) are also board members.

What can we do with it?
Akasha allows you to publish, share and vote for publications in the same way as the latest generation publishing platforms such as Medium , with the difference that the content is published on a decentralized network rather than on servers. In addition, the votes are associated with micro-transactions of ether (ETH) which allow to valorize the content of quality. In other words, there is no censorship or monetization of data by an arbitrary organization and everyone can enjoy the popularity of its content if it is recognized as qualitative.

Who are the competitors?
The best-known competitor of Aksaha is Steemit. Steemit has been operational for several months and unlike Akasha has implemented its own blockchain and cryptocurrency.
Synereo also relies on its own technology with a reputation-based approach called "Reo" which is a measurement function of the latter, and commitment in the sense of involvement and interest. the AMP is its cryptocurrency.
