MONEY MATTERS #2

Who do you work for?

I work for Costco

Who do you work for?

I work for IBM

Who do you work for?

I work for …

Who do we all work for?

We work for the government and the bank.

First, we work for the government through taxes. Income tax, GST, Land taxes…

Secondly, we work for the bank. An average household in Australia pay between $2000 - $3000 in mortgage, an average income per person, after tax is also around $2000-$3000.

Owning your own home is better than rent, I understand that. But being a slave for your entire life to serve the bank is just too much.

Have you ever asked yourself, why do I need a five bedrooms house when I only need two bedrooms?

Why do I need a big backyard, when I don’t even have time to mow the lawn?

Have you ever wondered, how much time do you actually enjoy your big house? An average person spends ten hours a day outside of their house, eight hours inside their house, with their eyes closed and guess what, we only have 24 hours a day.

I used to have a four bedrooms house, with a big backyard. I sold it and bought two units. One to live in and one to rent out.

I could buy a $50,000 car with an affordable monthly repayment to keep up with the Joneses, but I bought a $7,500 car instead, enough to pay it off and enough to go anywhere I want without any problems.

Financially speaking, sometimes emotion costs too much.

Maybe it is time for you to ask yourself. WHO DO I WORK FOR?
