Snips Air is the new kid on the block in the world of voice assistants. Popularized by Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri and others, the world of voice activated assistants is bringing the cutting edge of IOT to the homes all around the world. The Snips Air project is looking to disrupt the pack by offering privacy by design, generating much needed trust in a world of trustless corporations. Running off a powerful, open source platform, Snips is looking to decentralize and democratize the world of IOT.

The Project

Snips Air works by integrating existing AI assistants into a singular, voice activated command center. Running safely on your local network, Snips allows users to take control of their home, and every IOT enabled device inside, and outside, of it. Users can pull from an existing database of IOT enabled device and voice commands, or create their own custom code. Running on an open source platform lets users add new devices in order to stay up to date with the newest tech. With their own hardware ready to deploy, the Snips team has created a powerful and versatile platform, ready to compete with the likes of Alexa and Siri.

The Coin

The Snips token will be used to buy and sell various products on the Snips app store. The app store will host a decentralized marketplace, stocked and managed by developers and users alike. Users can control the apps available in the store by staking their tokens for or against potential apps. By voting for the apps that they use and like, users will effectively choose which apps will remain in the app store.
Snips is currently holding a community airdrop and giving away up to 1000 Snips tokens (~$23 USD). In order to claim the tokens you will need to register for the snips platform and complete a few actions on various social media platforms. All together the tasks take less than 30 minutes to complete, and earn a decent amount of that sweet, sweet free Cryptocurrency. They are also currently holding an open ICO, selling Snips tokens in exchange for a variety of popular Cryptocurrencies.

Team

Founded in 2013, Snips is an established company that is expanding by developing a blockchain enabled platform. They boast an impressive team of over 10 people, all of which have extensive experience in their respective fields.

Roadmap

Snips launched their app store earlier this year in Q2/Q3 and is aiming to release their hardware products by Q4 of 2019. With their token sale and airdrop on going they are still very much in the early stages of the company development, but have done a good job of shipping product and sticking to their roadmap.

Conclusion

Snips is an exciting project offering a decentralized Voice Assistant that can safely, securely, and simply run ever IOT enabled device in your home. With a host of existing features and many more to come it is an exciting alternative to Amazon’s Alexa or other competitors. The team at ICOsandwhich gives Snips Air a 8.7 and is another one of our definite buys in the wild and crazy ICO market.
