[Experiment] Monero mining with Microsoft Azure experiment!

You can track my XMR mining setup here:

My Microsoft Azure ming configuration:
xmr-stak-cpu, 18 VMs, Ubuntu 16.04, $0.433 per hour per VM, 2 days and 16 hrs per free trial account
Compute F4: 4 cores, 8GB RAM, 64GB Disk

Update 1 (21 Aug 2017):

I'm doing a little experiment to mine Monero with my Laptop CPU (i7-4500U), actually getting a decent 110H/s = USD$0.50 a day
To put in perspective, it costs USD$86 for an equivalent contract on Genesis Mining, without factoring in electricity costs
(Yea, it won't be profitable as long as electricity costs are involved, it's expensive here (USD$0.15/KWH)

Update 2 (23 Aug 2017):

I'm using 2 laptops to mine XMR ~16hrs a day for 2 days, I've got 0.0077009256XMR --> 0.64919USD
Average: 140H/s for 2 laptops
5 year old HP Pavillion (i5-3210M) 70H/s
My 3 year old HP Probook 430 G1 (i7-4500U) 110H/s
Both are Dual core with Hyper-threading
Edit (3/9):
Based in CPUID's HWMonitor, the highest CPU temperature reached was 85°C, which should be okay (maybe), at least in the short run (Source). In addition, I didn't observe any thermal throttling, based on the consistent CPU clock speed and hashrate

Update 3 (24 Aug 2017):

I tried using Microsoft Azure for Monero mining, oh boy, it sures pay very well! 🤑 (I'm starting to think I'm dumb for not trying this earlier 😂

As you can see from the screen shots, each of the 10 Virtual machines (VMs), has an average hashrate of 320H/s. That's 3200H/s in total, pretty good for a free trial. Of course, none of this will be worth it if this isn't a free trial

Update 4 (28 Aug):

After 5 days of mining XMR with Microsoft Azure, the results speak for themselves :)
My payout so far: 0.1628881035 XMR (21.77 USD) (1 XMR to 133.66 USD)

Out of the $200 credits from the free trial from 2 accounts, I have $61.91 left in one account and $144.61 in another.
As you may had noticed from the screenshot above, there is sudden decrease in hashrate every ~3.5hrs. It occurs after Microsoft Azure shutdown my 18 VMs (Virtual Machines). I have to manually restart them. I think you can run it longer if you connect it via an external SSH client, like Putty or Juice SSH.
Edit (3/9):
Note 1: Actually it doesn't matter how many VMs you have. What matters is that each of the VM (Standard compute F4s) costs $0.4333 an hour to run and you habe $200 in free trial credits. The more VMs you create, the faster you run out of credits. But you also have more hashrate, hence potientially higher payouts in that shorter period of time. My 10 VMs per account (19 in total) lasts about 3 days of mining at around ~15hrs a day.

Update 5 (1 Sep 2017)

I have ran out of my Azure credits from my 2 accounts yesterday. I have only accumulated 0.2589901607 XMR (36.26 USD) from mining with Microsoft Azure, short of the minimum payout of 0.3 XMR. So I emailed the support of Minemonero.pro team, and they replied in 6mins (not a typo). They have sent the payout, with the transaction hash. I verified with my payment address and private viewkey.
I received my XMR mining payouts guys! I'm really glad to say that these guys at Minemonero.pro team are legit (Pretty rare these days ✨)
