Curation is an extremely important part of the Steemit platform. Many people come to the platform on the promise that they can write, post, and then earn crypto currency. In terms of onboarding new users to crypto in general, Steemit is a powerful force because it's one of the few places where you can start with nothing and leave with something! It just seems to take forever to get started.
Minnow Curation
The Minnow Support Project exists because it took @aggroed, one of the founders of the Minnow Support Project, 8 months on the platform to make any significant headway. It was only after 8 months that he started having more than 1000 followers and started having some steady post rewards beyond pennies per post.
This is entirely too long. We need more curation efforts to help new users get a foothold on the platform to help retain them here!
msp-curation
The Minnow Support Project has two moderators leading a team curation effort:
@isaria and @juliakponsford.
For now they are using strong votes from @minnowsupport, but the long term goal is to switch larger manual votes to @msp-curation. While a lot of MSP accounts use auto voting these will use none and be completely done by manual curation.
A mix of people and posts
While there are some ways that exist to get larger votes already as a minnow they don't tend to be sustainable. This project aims to blend curation of high quality posts with high quality people. Here we're looking for folks that spread the values of Peace, Abundance, and Liberty and also have a social mission within their blood.
The account is small to start, but @aggroed has pledged 10k SP (starting with 2.5k and building up) for this and the Minnow Support Project is looking forward to getting it off the ground completely before the new year.
