Why is there oil on my GPU? Video about reasons and consequences

Hey steemit mining community!

I wanted to dedicate a video to the old question why sometimes oily substances can be found on your GPU.

tl;dr (or tl;dw)

Reason 1 (most common): Thermalpads leaking silicone - no problem since dielectric, but should not get into your riser (might result in frozen rig or unrecognized card) just clean with 99% alcohol or WD40's contact cleaner (not the ordinary WD40)

Reason 2: Fans also have a tiny drop of oil in them, even that can leak, but unusual, fans should be checked if they still run smoothly though.

Reason 3 (of the past): Flux from soldering, more uncommon now because rinse-free solder paste is quite popular nowadays, but one never knows.

Reason 4 (worst option): cracked heatpipe. RMA if still possible because the card probably won't stop overheating.

Greetings and oil free mining to all of you!
