My last post in my Milestone Series about One Year on Steemit was about my failures here. Now for a little positivity! These are the things I have done that have worked for me and that I recommend to you when you are a new minnow:
Leasing Delegated SP from @minnowbooster
I started leasing delegated sp when I had about 60 sp of my own. Nothing worked for me at the level. Over time I built this up to where my total sp was over 500 and then 1000. This has made a big difference in being able to work here.
I see so many little minnows buying bidbot votes and using the rest of their SBD/STEEM to directly purchase sp. I am not against either of those things, but I recommend you lease sp first. Once you get over 500 sp and have a slider, then you can do those other things.
Joining the Curation League of @ahb12345
Asher runs this league and I learned so much about how steemit rewards work by paying attention and working hard over there for 2 months in the Fall of 2017. I really did not understand what curation was until I got there.
Joining Kryptonia
Kryptonia has been one of the brightest spots for me at steemit for me since I joined in February 2018. I earn SUP coin for doing the tasks of other people – not just steemers. I use those coins to enter my own tasks which have all been steemit posts.
I get great interaction and upvotes from other Kryptonians and now get an upvote from @kryptonia’s new bot as I wrote about in a recent post.
I found @kryptonia through @sydesjokes - another blog I highly recommend to you.
Joining @qurator
@qurator is a place you can join as soon as you are posting good posts regularly and have 4 STEEM for the registration fee. Once accepted, you get one good upvote each day for life. There are ways to increase that good vote by various means and I have been doing that to great effect. I wish I would have joined @qurator sooner than I did, but I did not think my posts were good enough. I need my self-esteem to grow!
Using @steemdunk for Autovoting
When I put the people I vote for regularly on @steemdunk, I had wonderful results. I save time, I’m more consistent, and I even get some people adding me back on their steemdunk. This has been a win for me in every way.
I remember the early days of my time here when I used to hunt and search for my friends posts and others I needed to upvote for any reason. This tooks hours and was not an efficient use of time. Now I just go to my steemdunk and I can see who is active today and visit them from there with one click.
Upvoting good comments I get on my posts
I feel like this is one of my better moves and people come back and read my posts to this reason.
Posting to Challenges and Contests
Posting to tags that are active with other steemers makes a big difference to me. I started using challenges and contests early in my time here and since then I almost always post to a tag where people have something organized. This is a great help for my visibility and engagement.
Keeping my voting Power above 90%
I blew out my power on Day One on steemit. I like everything, so I was upvoting like crazy. Having low power is a big mistake here in so many ways and is very easy to fix. I keep my power above 90% at all times and still am able to vote effectively.
Using bidbots to boost rewards
Bidbots are controversial on steemit, but I get good results. I my aim is always a 70% ROI and I usually get above 50% at least. People will tell you this cannot be done, but I do it. I don’t use bidbots until after the 2nd day on my posts and I do not bid on the big bots.
The main reasons I use bidbots is to:
- increase my rewards
- get my posts above a $10 payout so they will rank in search engines
- increase the curation rewards to my real voters
- grow my sp
Some of that works, and some of it is not going so well in these days of low prices. But I spend only about 30-45 minutes each day and can double there rewards on most of my posts. It is not easy, and most people will not get this return.
Buying and Seeking @steembasicincome shares.
SBI is steemit’s version of Universal Basic Income and I am so glad to be a part of it. I get an upvote from them on every post and will get that for life. This is very encouraging. Many contests and giveaways will get you sbi shares and you can find a post about ongoing ways to get sbi shares on their feed. Highly recommended!
My Milestone Post Series
You just read one of a series of posts I’m writing to remember this year and how things have gone for me at steemit. Here is what I have posted so far in this series:
MILESTONE One year on steemit – My Biggest Mistake Part One - Poor Networking
MILESTONE Post: One Year on Steemit – 4800 Followers!
MILESTONE One Hundred Thousand Views at fitinfun You Tube
5 Minute Freewrite Challenge One Year on Steemit
My Books on Amazon and Selz
I came here to post my content in the natural weight loss niche. I have been posting this information online since I lost “half my size” in 2011. I thought steemit would be a good place to post and in many ways it has been.
I want to make these posts positive, but I’m having trouble doing that and they are hard to write. I’m thankful to all who help me here and hope I will be able to carry on.
