I Will Declare the Mighty Deeds of God

For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children.
—Psalm 78:5-6

Israel’s history is full of great victories. The people often saw God working miracles, signs and wonders. Sadly, as time went by, they forgot the powerful deeds that God did for them. Why? They stopped recounting their victories. Today we will talk about the power of testimony.

WHAT IS A TESTIMONY?

It is the bold, written or spoken, declaration of what God has done. It is a record of history and God’s powerful works in our lives.

•WITH WHOM SHOULD WE SHARE OUR TESTIMONIES?

We have a responsibility to proclaim what God has done with us and through us. We must tell people how God saved us, healed us, restored our family, saved our children, etc.

¿WHAT DOES DECLARING GOD’S MIGHTY DEEDS DO?

◇. It reveals the nature, character, and heart of God.

It means that we must know that we are saved, see ourselves spiritually free, physically healthy, economically stable, free from fear, and full of love. When we understand that everything comes from God and bear witness to His greatness, others will be able to experience God’s love, nature, character, faithfulness, and heart.

♡ It makes us witnesses that Jehovah is God.

“I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, and there was no foreign god among you; therefore, you are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “that I am God.” —Isaiah 43:12
Our testimony proves that Jehovah is God. He is the only true God!

□. It supports the gospel with supernatural evidences.

Preaching the gospel of the kingdom is a way of bearing witness to His great love for us. Matthew 24:14 says, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations...” The preaching of the gospel must be accompanied by supernatural demonstrations: miracles, healings, restorations, deliverances and more. Where there is no evidence of what is preached, there is only theology. A revival cannot
be sustained without testimonies that guarantee the veracity of what is preached.

♧. It defeats the devil.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. —Revelation 12:11
When we share our testimony, a supernatural power is unleashed that overcomes the enemy. We defeat the enemy by sharing miracles or other blessings we have received from God.

♤. It creates an atmosphere for miracles to happen again.

There is an anointing present the moment a miracle occurs. When we testify, the anointing that flowed at the moment of the miracle is unleashed, creating an atmosphere for God to bless those who hear the testimony. The purpose of a testimony is to create the same atmosphere, that unleashes the same anointing, that will cause the same miracle to happen again.

●. It unleashes the spirit of prophecy.

Revelation 19:10 says that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. And what is the testimony of Jesus? His death on the cross on which He bore all our sins, His resurrection on the third day, His victory over death and hell, and His everlasting life. Through prophecy, Je-sus invades our past, present and future. Therefore, testifying unleashes the power of His resurrection and His victory over death, sickness, poverty, and the devil.
