It wasn’t something that happened overnight but over half a century. Gradually, incrementally, we accepted that the ever-increasing control of our movement, our language and our thoughts was essential for our safety, as fabricated threats induced us to trade our rights for the illusion of security. Most failed to see the net closing around us and those who did were ridiculed and silenced.
Mandatory shots for the good of our health drugged us up, and medication in the water dumbed us down. People became confused, no longer responding to logic and reason, as truth became false, censorship was freedom, left became right and right was wrong.
With a basic income for everyone and all work done mechanically, skills and expertise were lost to us, and few knew any longer what it was to build or create, to read or write, to communicate other than verbally through their intelligent personal assistant. Carbon taxes on farming followed by extreme global cooling eventually moved all food production from the fields to the laboratory, and ultimately our dependence was total.
So it was that in the last years before the great reset, our once great race of scientists, artists and thinkers became solely consumers, entirely in thrall to the machines.
