Jesus and the necessity of mercy: And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Luke 6:33

Mercy is one of the most important gifts in the doctrine of the Kingdom of God taught by Jesus, what society can men achieve without this beautiful spiritual gift?
Without mercy (compassion, gentleness, kindness), only oppression, criminality, and violence remain. Mercy makes us humans, and friends of our neighbor. In addition, and this as a reward, mercy is deeply related to assertiveness (precision and accuracy); that is why Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount teaches a beatitude about this spiritual gift: "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy" Matthew 5:7.
The gift of mercy helps us grow as persons because it is way (John 14:6) and also helps us control the effects of the law of sowing and reaping ("For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind" Hosea 8:7), we live in a progressive universe and we never know what can bear fruit from the seed of injustice.
The practice of the virtue of justice, according to the doctrine of the kingdom of God, is often simply a mask, justice is necessary but not sufficient, like all the human virtues, justice, does not build quality of life. Jesus in the Gospel of Luke openly raised the necessity for mercy to achieve the true life, the eternal life, and blessedness, with these wise words:
"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked" Luke 6:32-35.
