Weekend Well Spent

Last week, @/legendarryll told me that we could meet @/wandergirl on Saturday (October 21, 2017) to discuss more about steemit.com. I got so excited that I invited @/thegaillery and Ivana (she's not yet on steemit, but she will be soon) to tag along. I knew that the meet up would be another opportunity for me to learn more about the community. It's so valuable for me since most of my understanding came from my own research. I would like to learn from someone who has been navigating the platform long enough.

Friday afternoon (October 20, 2017), my supervisor told me that I need to be at the process the next day (which is a company holiday) to support an evaluation that has been on a tight schedule. The meet up was scheduled at 4:00 PM; however, I don't have the slightest idea when the evaluation will end. If it will take whole day, my opportunity to meet my fellow steemians and learn from them would be compromised. With this in mind, I negotiated with my superior that I will be out by 3:00 PM so that I can still reach the venue by 4:00 or 4:30 PM.

After the evaluation, I immediately rushed out from the office and headed to Cafe Brown for the meet up. As you can see in the photos, I'm still in my uniform! After the short self introduction, @/wandergirl immediately started the discussion. The discussion was informal yet informative. We were having a lot of laughter because one of us is skeptical. Most of the time, we were just joking about her being the devil's advocate.

She's the devil's advocate. Don't worry, she will join us soon!

I had a great time listening to @/wandergirl as she shared her first-hand experience. Before the meet up, I read the Steemit Whitepaper so I have the slight idea of how steemit.com works. With the discussion, my knowledge was enhanced and my perspective has been broadened, which made me believe that steemit has not yet reached its fullest potential. The reach and range of steemit in Cebu is still in its initial stage. I would love to see the community grow and flourish as one diverse yet harmonized entity.

Now, let's get to work!
