First we must know that the cells it can be divided into 2 daughter cells exactly the same.
A cell does not suddenly become cancerous, it accumulates damage in its genetic material as it divides, until it is damaged in such a way that it causes cancer, therefore, all the cells have the potential to become cancerous.
But since the body is perfect it has a defense mechanism against the mutations of the genetic material, that's why I introduce you to the enzyme P53.
To this enzyme you must thank every second that you do not have cancer, this enzyme is responsible for reviewing the genetic material before cell division, if it is damaged sends the cell to a process called apoptosis, apoptosis is cell suicide. So when you feel alone and your girlfriend leaves you, you remember that there are cells that commit suicide so you do not get sick.
At some point our friend, the P53 enzyme, can be damaged. If she is damaged, no one will stop the cell division of the damaged cell, the damaged cell will be divided as well as her daughters and so on, accumulating more and more mutations until they become cancerous and cause a tumor.
