Muy posiblemente algunas personas se identifiquen con esto ó algunos pueden que no pero bueno, en la época de los años 80, específicamente en el año 1981 la reconocida fabricadora de autos Ford lanza al mercado una línea de autos en el que el Fairmont y el Zephyr eran los consentidos y los que marcaban la pauta hasta que seguidamente salió el Ford Futura 1981, este vendría siendo la edición de lujo del Zephyr, el Futura poseía asientos delanteros tipo butacas individuales, el asiento delantero se podía ajustar a través de un pequeño motor que lo movía hacia arriba, hacia abajo, hacia adelante y hacia atrás, sin olvidar el potente compresor de aire acondicionado que acompañaba a su diseño. Además de esto, su transmisión de 4x2, su motor de 6 cilindros y su caja modelo C4 hacían de este majestuoso auto todo un fierro.

Como todo en la vida, el super chatarra special como de cariño solemos llamarlo se fue deteriorando al igual que su motor y sus ganas de seguir rockeando en la carretera. Debido a la situación en la que se encuentra sumergida mi país, Venezuela, se ha hecho cuesta arriba las reparaciones de todo tipo de autos y más aun de los autos viejos como lo es este, sin embargo con esfuerzo y mucha voluntad, poco a poco, hemos ido reparándolo y haciéndole mejoras a su sistema y a su andar.

Su radiador, debido a que no se encontraba el original para su modelo, decidimos colocarle un radiador de mustang, lo que hace que el recalentamiento del motor sea casi nulo ya que posee más tubos que el radiador original.

Con el pasar del tiempo, mi papá fue envejeciendo y como era de esperarse no daba su brazo a torcer y no lo reconocía, además de que se le dificultaba ya manejarlo y mantenerlo. Por muchos años ha estado en la familia bridándonos momentos memorables, reuniones familiares, momentos no tan bonitos y porque no, hasta nos dejaba a un lado de la carretera.

Desde siempre me han gustado los autos deportivos como los Mustang, Camaros, Chargers…. Pero mi amor por el super chatarra especial creció por todo lo que viví, por lo que significa para nosotros como familia y especialmente, porque siempre veo y veré a mi papá en él.

Esa máquina me ha hecho aprender de mecánica, me ha hecho romperme la cabeza resolviendo problemas intrincados y más aunque en estos momentos está en período de reposo para seguir siendo reparado paulatinamente.

Este hermoso auto, ha logrado sobrevivir los embates del tiempo como un guerrero y hoy esta esperando por los últimos ajustes para salir a dar la pelea nuevamente. Esta vez no será mi papá el piloto, ahora le toca a él montarse conmigo y ser mi co-piloto….
