Captain Marvel 2 Gets an Official Release date and Marvel Now has a New Release Schedule

Captain Marvel.jpg

Mark your calendars, Captain Marvel 2 will come out on July 8, 2022. It didn't just get a green light, it got a release date. July is a new month for Marvel, but I sure the movie will do fantastic no matter what. I mean the previous movie made a billion dollars. I really hope Secret Invasion will be incorporated somehow into this movie. It will be amazing and it fits with Carol Danvers' story in the *MCU *so far.

Now for the not so pleasant part of the news.

Disney is not optimistic about the current epidemic. Sure, Mulan will get released in July, maybe, but it was not expected to do well in anyway. It was a movie made for China, which is now closed until further notice. In fact, Disney is only expecting to start filming movies and TV shows again until September. So I guess they are not expecting things to settle down anytime soon. Mulan got a better fate then Artemis Fowl which will go straight to Disney+. It won't even get to stop for a digital purchase, but that movie looked like it was D.O.A from the start. Marvel is a different story.

The movies that Disney really does care, the Marvel movies, and some other movies which I don't really care about, have been moved much further away than September and I think it is wise. When it comes to Marvel movies, they basically just pushed each movie, by one movie, creating some exciting new release dates.

Black Widow New Poster.jpg

Let's start with the most anticipated movie, for now, Black Widow. Black Widow will come out on November 6, 2020. November has been a really good month for Marvel movies and Disney cannot let Black Widow go to streaming, because no matter the price point, it won't make a billion dollars in streaming, but it will at the cinemas. I mean, if there will be any cinema's left by then. Also, fans have been demanding that this will be a theater movie and that Marvel won't fail the character by sending her to streaming. We've been waiting for this movie for 10 years, show some respect. The fans won. And we already have a poster with the new date on it.

Eternals.jpg

The movie that moved was the Eternals which is now set for February 12, 2021. A month that was really good for Black Panther, but I am not sure how it will be for a regular, really odd and cosmic Marvel movie. It would be a risky movie no matter the date.

ShangChi.jpg

Instead of being a risky February movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now a summer opener. Shang-Chi is set to come out in May 7, 2021. Yes, this martial arts movie that rumored to be set between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame is now officially the Marvel movie that will kick off the summer blockbuster season. This is a very big show of faith in a movie with a not that of a familiar character in the leading role, but all it takes is good really good ass kicking trailer to bring everyone on board.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.jpg

The movie that took a hit and is now not a summer blockbuster is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Instead of May it is now set to come out November 5, 2021. The first Doctor Strange movie also came out in November and it made some very nice money in that month, so I am sure this movie which is defined as Avengers 4.5 will be a major hit. No matter which date it comes out in. Plus this push will help the movie actually get a director as technically, it still doesn't have one.

Thor Love and Thunder.jpg

November was very good for Thor: Ragnarok, but I am sure that February 18, 2022 will be equally good for Thor: Love and Thunder. Everyone will see this movie no matter when it will come out. It is now a total must see after the previous one and Thor's arc in Endgame. Plus, it is now directed by an Oscar winner, so it has that going for him. Plus, a totally crazy plot and one Christian Bale.

Black Panther 2.jpg

This is excellent news for Black Panther 2. Forget being stuck in February. Which was appropriate for the first movie, but that movie made 1.3 billion dollars. It is a major blockbuster. Now it will kick off summer 2022 when it comes out on May 8, 2022. Brilliant date and so much better and more appropriate than the previous one.

This push also gives Marvel more time to actually make these movies as production on everything as halted due to coronavirus. The Disney+ Marvel shows will also probably be delayed as they stopped production on them as well and they need to fit into the timeline of the movies. I think that Marvel is playing it safe and smart with this push, and this also shows how much Marvel trusts their own brand. It doesn't matter if we know the characters or not, the release date of each movie is now officially looks arbitrary. Yay.

I need new Marvel movies. It has been forever since Endgame and the thirst is strong. The longer we wait for Black Widow the more we will be anxious for it. What do you think about this new release schedule? A certain chain of hits? A show of faith in Marvel movies?
