Manga.

What is a manga?
A manga is a comic, a Japanese comic. It is different from American comics because of these points:

  • Style.
  • Narrative.

Manga has an easily identifiable style since characters are frequently thin, with big eyes and a striking appearence, for both male and female character.
American comic style tends to draw male characters in a more muscular manner, and way more attractive for women; It is more realist in the art, doesn't use exxagerated expressions like in mangas.

  • Narrative in mangas has a beginning, outcome and ending, it is read from right to left.

  • In american comics exists parallel universes that gives continuity to the history for a long time, and from time to time those universes cross each other. They are read from right to left.

  • Mangas are printed in black and white, and comics in color.

There are various genres in manga, for example:
Shonen: For boys. Topics are about fights and superpowers, it is his main point.
Shojo: For girls. Is a softer genre with the plot mostly being romance.
Gore: Is a genre where there is a lot of blood.
Seinen: For older boys.
Josei: For older girls.
Yaoi: Romance between men.
Yuri: Romance between women.
Ecchi: A genre with a big ammount of erotism mixed with comedy.
