Total lunar eclipse is known to occur on January 31 night and this special phenomenon of rare nan will be enjoyed from the territory of Indonesia.
As reported previously, the total lunar eclipse on January 31 night is considered special for three reasons. First, a lunar eclipse occurs when the moon is still at the point closest to Earth so it is called a supermoon.
Secondly, the eclipse happens to coincide with the second full moon in January. This phenomenon is called a blue moon, because the full moon also occurred on 1 January.
This lunar eclipse is also called blood moon, because the total eclipse of the moon appears red blood. This color change is caused by the refraction of sunlight - reflected by the moon - by the earth's atmosphere.
"The total lunar eclipse of January 31, 2018 is very special," said Thomas Djamaluddin, head of the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN) in his Facebook account, Tuesday (23/1/2018).
As for phenomena like this, added Thomas when contacted Suara.com, Thursday (25/1/2018), the last time occurred about 150 years ago.
Although special, Thomas cautioned that this rare natural event has potential risks. According to him, when a full moon and a new moon, the tidal wave will reach its maximum point because the moon's gravity is reinforced by the sun.
"At the time of the eclipse, the effect increases as the sun, earth, and moon are completely in line," explains Thomas in a short message correspondence with Suara.com.
"For January 31 the effect is even stronger because in addition to eclipse, the moon is also in the nearest position (supermoon)," he added.
Under normal conditions, jabar Thomas, the maximum pairs only impact sea water runoff into flood tide. Conditions to watch out for when there is bad weather in the sea that caused high waves that impacted the flood of rob increasingly melimpas far to the mainland.
"Another impact if flooding is due to heavy rains on land, the flood will be retroactive due to the impact of the maximum tides," Thomas warned.
The total lunar eclipse process January 31 will begin at 18:48 pm and peak at 19:52 - 21:08 pm. The entire eclipse process will end at 22:11 pm.
