Hello everyone. Today I will show you how I created this "lettermark" logo.

This logo is very simple. Manufacturing this logo in my PhotoShop (actually it's Corel Draw x7) was not that difficult, nevertheless, I feel that this logo has strong characteristics.

I made this logo without the use of any font, although I would categorized this as a "Lettermark", this logo was created with the use of customized objects/shapes arranged and combined to make a custom-font-made "Lettermarl".

Here is how the DEV logo was made:

First

In this step. I made a sketches with lines and shapes. It is important for this step to fully understand the request and description provided to create the basic foundation of your logo.

I used 3 tools for this step.

Second

We gave color to the objects we have created earlier in this step to show the letters made from them. We used the "smart fill tool" to do this.

Third

Now, wedelete the excess lines and simply leave the objects that have been colored with the "smart fill tool"

Fourth

For the 4th step, we will group all the objects that we have colored in a block after deleting the line objects. Then I selected "weld tool" to merge all of them into 1 single object.

Fifth

For the last step, since we finished working on the logo itself. All that's left is to pick the proper colors for it.

Note

Anyone of us can easily make a logo, but the difficulties we can experience may vary, but it's not about that only: it's about the ideas you mix into it. Usually, "Lettermark"Logos are created with only existing fonts but with lettermarks made with custom fonts will surely feel and look better.

Versions of the DEV logo:

Black over white & white over black.
It is also important to test and make samples with the logo on a dark or light background.
