How to keep going for short periods of time, sadly the older your laptop gets the less battery power. Answer to that is an opsit kersie (candle to sit up at night with partner) and bottle of wine as mentioned by @fionasfavouries Taking Back My Power!
This photo I took during 2014 with the "How To Tips" for people online, sadly now 2019 that battery would only hold for under half an hour, torch was replaced with camping gas lighting, no one anticipated getting into this mess.
Having a stove with gas cooking on top, an electric oven helped with cooking during power outages at night, much needed coffee in the morning. This debacle does leave a sour taste many more residents should have been on electricity with running water into homes, living in the dark wave of pipe dreams, promises made never kept.
