Your eyes adjust to the dimmer lighting of the cafe as you enter. You notice something in the middle of the main floor. It's a old cobblestone wishing well. You're sure it wasn't there before.

"Hello, Traveler," The Manager says with his usual easy smile. You nod your hello and ask about the well.

"Oh, that old thing? It always comes around this time of year. Never in quite the same place. Last time it was outside."

You go to the well and peer down. You can see that the hole goes far down past where the cafe floor would normally stop. It leads into a deep blackness, the depths of which you cannot perceive.

"Careful. If you fall in, there's no getting you out. I'm not even sure that thing has a bottom." Then as if suddenly remembering something, The Manager snaps his fingers and brings out a small tray full of odds and ends from under the counter. It's labeled: Lost & Lost.

"Here. Why don't you take a coin and toss it in?

Rifling through the box, you find a keyring full of skeleton keys, a few metallic objects that begin to twist and turn when your hand gets near them, a pair of leather gloves, and a several coins. One coin in particular, a gold one, has a face on one side that looks a bit like you. On the other side is your symbol. You know the one.

You walk to the well's edge.

"Make a wish, Traveler. Don't say it aloud. You know the saying."

He waits for you to make a wish. He's still waiting.....

Make a wish.

After you make your wish you toss the coin in.

"Now just listen," The Manager says.

Minutes pass, but you don't hear the coin hit bottom. You realize you never will.
