Team news

Liverpool
Liverpool's defensive resources are stretched ahead after a thigh injury ended Joel Matip's season.

Jordan Henderson is available once again after missing the Manchester City way leg due to suspension, although Joel Matip, Emre Can and Adam Lallana remain injured.

Klopp will restore his first-choice defence to the starting line-up for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Roma.

Dejan Lovren and Andrew Robertson are set to return, with Trent Alexander-Arnold dropping into his more familiar right-back role, at the expense of Joe Gomez - who has not travelled because of injury - Ragnar Klavan and Alberto Moreno who played in Saturday's goalless draw with Stoke.

Klopp does not have the same luxury in midfield where his only three fit senior players Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum will start.

Diego Perotti has returned to fitness after a three-week absence, leaving Rick Karsdorp and Gregoire Defrel as the injury absentees for Eusebio Di Francesco to contend with.

Provisional squad: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Mignolet, Clyne, Masterson, Moreno, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solanke, Ings.

Borussia Dortmund
Gregoire Defrel is unavailable to miss out after spraining his ankle.

Former Man City full-back Aleksandar Kolarov is a doubt with a muscle problem.

Rick Karsdorp is a long-term absentee.

Provisional squad:Alisson; Fazio, Manolas, Juan Jesus; Florenzi, Strootman, De Rossi, Nainggolan, Kolarov; Schick, Dzeko

Predicted line-ups
Liverpool (4-3-3): Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Borussia Dortmund (3-5-2): Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Isco, Benzema, Ronaldo
