Build Logic

  • Contrary to some other builds found here on Vainglory Fire, this Varya build puts emphasis on her basic attacks, because they are her main source of damage. Of course, some would argue that her Stormforged Spear deals more damage, but you can miss the skillshot and, in most cases, make yourself an easy target. Thus, rather than focusing on her ability-based burst build, I will be focusing her sustained, scaling damage build in this guide.
  • Like Celeste, Lyra, and Lorelai, Varya's attacks scale with crystal damage, so she is more viable built CP.  Alternating Current's passive allows you to stack your CP with your basic attack damage, making you a very dangerous basic-attack based mage. This is 1 of 4 of Varya's power spikes. Once you get   Alternating Current, you start to deal real damage and can easily melt enemy heroes and win a team fight or two.
  • Your second spike (this usually comes first) is your ultimate, Anvil's Hammer. Anvil's Hammer's passive not only allows you to deal damage to more enemies with your basic attacks, but also gives you bonus attack speed. This is important because attack speed decreases the amount of time it takes for you to trigger Chain Lightning, making it essential to max it out.
  • Your third spike comes with Dragon's Eye, as it scales your damage and makes you scarier in fights, precisely because you can deal massive amounts of damage to the entire enemy team (similar to   Baron). It is more important to get this as a second item because even if the enemy team has gotten shield, your damage will scale as long as you are in combat, meaning that at one point, your damage will surpass their shielding.
  • Defense should be self-explanatory. Build shield against CP and armor against WP. If WP heroes are constantly diving you and have large amounts of attack speed, get an   Atlas Pauldron (it is the only scenario where you will need an Atlas). If your are getting bursted, get a Slumbering Husk; and if you feel like being more tanky, Shiversteel is a great option. The recent changes to Shiversteel (it gained attack speed stats) not only give you extra DPS, but also allows you to kite enemy heroes. On top of that, it makes you harder to take down. War Treads can also make you tankier. However, avoid opting for tank if there is one or multiple Aftershocks on the enemy team, because it won't help much.
  • Broken Myth allows you to pierce enemy shielding, and it is also always necessary to get it because most likely, the enemy team is smart enough to get shield. if they are not, getting   Broken Myth allows you to pierce their BASE SHIELD. Eve of Harvest allows you to sustain in fights and last longer, in most cases. however, avoid having multiple instances of sustain on your team, because a Poisoned Shiv can destroy your strategy as a team. Frostburn is another excellent choice for kiting. In order for it to work, you'll need to combo skills effectively. When initiating fights, use Anvil's Hammer first, then get out of channeling early by casting Arc Recursion. While Arc Recursion is channeling, cast Stormforged Spear to slow your enemies, making it easier for the thunder strikes from Anvil's Hammer to hit. Dash away from the enemy team while staying close to your team. If you want to deal more damage, try to maintain basic-attack range while dashing to deal damage to enemy heroes. You'll gain barrier and energy from each enemy hit, so keep that in mind.
  •  Shatterglass is for those who want a bit more burst with Stormforged Spear. I recommend getting this only if your are significantly ahead and can consistently land skillshots.
  • Spellfire is great for finishing off enemies who just happen to have a sliver of health remaining from your  Stormforged Spear. I recommend getting this only if your enemies keep getting away with low health.
  •  Clockwork is great for those who like low cooldowns. It allows you to dash more often and ult more often, and you'll run out of energy less often. However, it is important to note that Varya has significantly faster energy regen than other heroes who use energy (not unique resources), so Clockwork isn't a must.

Okay That's all for me, see you again in next post, keep follow @yukki :)
