I shot this video in Seattle, WA. It is a complete video without edit of the first half of an Uber shit. I used 3 cameras. 1 facing outwards, 1 facing in towards the interior and one that dubbed my phone. The idea is to give the viewer a view of what I see when I drive, what my passengers see on the inside and how the actual app works. I find this video is educational and fun for anyone who has not driven for an app company but is curious. I also find that actual drivers find it very entertaining.
I curse. Like, I curse a lot. But, hey, this video is about honesty. This is what I really think and feel about the passengers I drive. I also think that it is funny to see the "Jeckle and Hyde" of a rideshare driver.
I will warn you that I do almost nothing for the first half hour of this video. I didn't edit it out because that happens sometimes in rideshare. Sometimes you sit on your ass and do nothing while you wait for someone to ask for a ride. So, I felt like it might be boring, but it is a real look at what rideshare is sometimes.
I find that it is actually very funny. I drove to my favorite spot in Seattle. The spot I have been working for almost 2 years. I like it because it usually surges in the morning so my first ride of the day is a pretty profitable ride. But, OF COURSE, once I get all my camera's set up, nothing. No surge, no ride, no nothing. I just sat there thinking don't panic! But I really wanted to panic because I was also live streaming the event to my YouTube audience.
Anyway, this is my most successful YouTube video to date. It is approaching 700,000 minutes watched, just under 18k views with an average view duration of 38 minutes. It has generated 157.00 in ad revenue (now you know why I want to use the steemit platform! just imagine what 18k views on Dtube would generate. LOL)
My favorite stat about this video is that it is only being watched in the US about 80% of the time. So, 20% of my view time is from outside the US. That is the highest foreign view count that I have on any of my videos. Including 700 minutes of watch time in Ghana. Yeah, I'm pretty big in Ghana! :)
