Hurricane Irma Damage at Edison-Ford Estates in Downtown Fort Myers, Florida

Good evening, Steemians!

After our first official day back at school for teachers in Southwest Florida, we decided to go out for a couple of drinks.

We went to a place called Pinchers, which is NOT a topless bar, but rather a seafood place (we just got drinks). At first I ordered the in-house brewed beer, but after taking a sip of it from one of my friends, and it tasting like crap, I decided to get a whiskey sprite with cherry juice like my friend Irma.

Irma actually just signed up for Steemit and was approved yesterday. She only has one post so far, her introduction post, but if you're feeling up to it, please follow her @mamap. She actually paid for my drinks tonight and is a really cool friend and colleague.

Apart from drinking at Pinchers, we decided to walk to the Edison – Ford Estates, to view the damage caused by Hurricane Irma. I had driven by yesterday and I saw most of the damage that was caused. However, when driving by, sometimes it's hard to tell or see exactly what happened or the extent to which it happened.

So, I took a few pictures of the front lawns of the Edison – Ford Estates and here they are for your viewing pleasure or displeasure, however you look at it.

This tree looks like a prop from a movie - it's likely more than 100 years old - such history!!!

It's been incredible and sad seeing the amount of damage that hurricane Irma has caused all around Lee County and I'm sure Collier County as well as many other counties in Florida and countries in the Caribbean. It really makes us all think about how precious life is.
