7 million people are killed every year due to air pollution!!

In some areas of the world, the level of air pollution reached a serious level and 9 out of 10 people in the world are breathing in the polluted air. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 7 million people are dead due to air pollution every year.

This information was released on 2nd May in a new report published by the World Health Organization. The agency says that 90 percent of these deaths occur in poor countries, especially in Asia and Africa.

Since 2016, WHO has started observing the air pollution levels in more than a thousand cities in the world. Those numbers continue to increase. The number of cities currently under observation is four thousand three hundred. In recent years, the number of cities that have been monitored from low and middle-income countries has increased. The organization primarily said that the pollution are associated with diseases such as heart disease, lung cancer and stroke. To create a new report, air samples of 4,300 cities in 108 countries have been collected.
