By reaching for a greater understanding we can achieve greater growth as individuals, as a community and as a society. These days there are too many people who are easily offended and challenged by information that challenges their belief systems.
This is called cognitive dissonance and is mostly brought on by the embarrassment that their belief systems are not what they thought they were.
It is everywhere in a western society where the war on information and restrictions on the passing of essential knowledge is part of a business plan.
