Routine maintenance

Routine maintenance is necessary to keep the house clean and orderly. Many people clean houses daily and some every week. Then, some hire help and make sure that their houses are neat. If cleaning is done almost daily, there won't be any need to do an enormous amount of work at a single time. If, on the other hand, work is piled up, then it will not only create a huge mess but also increase the chances of contracting diseases. If we clean houses daily, it will only take a matter of minutes, and also create a good impression on the guests.

Washing the dishes can be done and should be done daily. The kitchen will start to smell bad and attract mites if it is not done. Also, the washed utensils should be drained of water and stored in proper places. Always wipe the kitchen counter and let it remain dry. If you are using an outside stove like the firewood one, then sweep the area. Keep the firewood dry and always poke it to check if there are any crawling creatures.

Clean the bathrooms at least once a week. Mold can accumulate on wet floors and cause sickness. Make sure to open the windows and let the sunlight in.

As for clothes, always wash them daily and dry them in the sun if possible. Nothing can beat the fresh feeling of sun-dried clothes. Fold the clothes and store them on closed shelves, if possible.

Sweep the floors and keep them clean. Dust allergies can increase if the floors are not swept regularly. Dispose of waste in the proper areas and do not let empty packets of food lie on the floor or tables. Books, newspapers, and periodicals should be arranged neatly to avoid a mess.

If you have a garden, make sure to cut down wild branches of trees as it could interfere with the power lines and cause problems. Also, remove weeds and overgrowth and check for pests and other insects.

Change wipes, mops, and other cleaning stuff if those are worn out. Using old mops will only increase the chances of spreading more germs.

Cleaning the refrigerator is also a must and should be done regularly. Avoid storing food older than a day. Also, do not keep spice powders that are half-opened inside the refrigerator. Store food in proper containers and online shopping sites have plenty of such containers.

Last but not least, bathe daily and maintain hygiene. Cut nails and tie hair when cooking food. Always wash your hands with soap before cooking.
