Hey everyone! It's the fourth of July and also my little cousin's birthday. :) I hope everyone had a wonderful time this weekend and got a chance to spend time with family and friends. The pictures below are from my cousin's birthday lunch. My mom and two aunts were all trying to take pictures of us at the same time and of course we were not able to time it right.
The cake is a tres leches cake that is so so good. It is a very traditional type of cake made with three different types of milk. The Mexican culture in particular eats this type of cake for birthday's a lot.

The pictures below are from my back porch. My boyfriend and I were able to get a really nice view of the fireworks that were being shot off in my neighborhood.
One thing not so fun about it was the amount of mosquitos that were in the backyard. We bought two large citronella candles... and it did NOT work very well.
Oh well.. we were able to enjoy the fireworks for about 10 minutes before heading back into the safe mosquito free haven of our house. Grilled hot dogs and burgers were made to truly celebrate good ol' American tradition.
