Deal well with losses

Since getting older includes losses, we must learn how to respond to them. There are basically three options. We can allow losses to defeat us, we can deny them, or we can accept them. For emotional wellness we must grieve appropriately but then pick up and go forward.

Rather than deny losses, we face them by crying out to God, freely telling him how we feel.

We acknowledge our feelings, allowing them to penetrate deeply into our souls. We cry out to God in our pain as we shed real tears. There is no sense in pretending that we have not been hurt. God well knows our thoughts.

I recall, when i was frequently in the office with severe headaches, which never responded to medications. One day the headache caused such intense vomiting and can't even glared the light. But i was able to endure the pain and continued the medication. The next morning, the headache was gone.

Appropriate grief allows us to deal with losses well and is essential to emotional wellness.
