@mergesort the only thing I can say to you is that you should live your life, without taking in account other people opinion, including your parents. They gave you LIFE! But they are not your owners. it shocks me when i read: "Somehow I feel like a trophy or social proof that my parents show around"...wow! That sounds horrible, but pretty normal nowadays.
