The word, "Dores" was taken from my grandmother's name which is Dolores.

In spanish, Dolores means "sorrow", taken from the Spanish title of the Virgin Mary María de los Dolores, meaning "Mary of Sorrows" .

I don't know why my great grandparents named my granny that way though but my granny is not always in sorrow.

Dad named me Dores after my granny's name, Dolores - though he didn't add the "lo" part.

Then Mom added "Jane" to my name because as what she said, I was born on January. And that's how I got my name, Dores Jane.
