PSA: 23SEP End-of-Time of Predictions Are Wrong, MMMMkay?

Public Service Announcement:

Despite predictions from those who seek money, publicity, etc., there's no evidence--Biblical or scientific--that the world will end on September 23, 2017, specifically. People who make these predictions (e.g., Harold Camping) do so in order to promote their brands, and in so doing, they make a mockery of Christianity and of themselves.

End-of-time of predictions are as old as humanity, and there's an enormous amount of evidence (namely, that we're all still here) that all of them are complete nonsense. All of them have always been complete nonsense, and all of them will continue to be complete nonsense. Seriously: ignore people who make end-times predictions. That's a fool's errand.

There have been something like 225 high-profile predictions that the world would soon end (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dates_predicted_for_apocalyptic_events), and so far, the prognosticators' record is 0-225. These predictions also are becoming more common, presumably because the rise of mass media makes it easier to promote brands and causes with attention-grabbing headlines like these. I really wish that the media would stop covering them entirely.

Live each day to the fullest because September 23 will undoubtedly be some people's last day. It almost certainly will not be the Earth's last day though. The Earth has been here for billions of years and, in all likelihood, has quite a bit of time left.

Public service announcement complete. Return to normal broadcasting.
