Fake it ‘till you make it

(Oh, for real... Not another self-help post written by a self-proclaimed 'life-coach' with a laptop, right? 🙄)

I'm far from a life-coach really, but I do so happen to be an expert in living... (I know, it's quite the skill I have, isn't it?)
One of the quotes I live by is -you guessed it!-: 'Fake it 'till you make it'.
But frankly: life should not be fake. As neither should be those who are living it.
'Fake it 'till you make it' isn't about pretending to be any less of the person you are, at all...
At least not in the way I look at it, that is.

Faking -so yeah, being a fake at times-, is allowing yourself to be more of the person you are. It's exploring what more of you there is to discover. 'Fake it till you make it' opens those windows through which you glare at life, from inside your comfort zone.

Everyone -yes, I do am making a very bold statement here: everyone felt out of place once.
Remember when you wanted to bail out of plans you made during an impulsive moment? When you left that event without having talked to anyone, because you didn't know anybody? Those to-do lists, resolutions, goals and dreams you barely think of anymore? Yeah?

‘Fake it ’till you make it’.

Again, not to push yourself to become anything you're not. But to get yourself over yourself. The only times you are actually being a fake, are when you believe to be out-of-place. You're faking to be inept at growing, to go out exploring, to settle for living while you could be alive. We're all born here with a unique set of strengths and weaknesses. You're being a fake when you feel an outcast, fooling yourself.

If you want to be more of you, if you want to live life and yourself to the fullest, you sometimes have to feel fake. As you're no longer the person you were. But it's worth feeling like an actor at times, rather than easily being impersonated by anyone.

So go and Fake It until you no longer fake to feel an outcast.
I say:

Go and fool yourself until you feel foolishly comfortable among all us other fools.
