Happy weekend my fellow #Steemians. Today i have a different kind of story to tell instead of the usual drinking story session i have on weekends..lol. Today, is a different day indeed and yes...i joined a 'Run'. Amazing, i joined a run?!...on a Saturday morning, i guess i must be winning the lottery soon....lol.

The run is called 'LFT18 RUN' and its a 8 kilometers (about 5 miles) run flagging off at 6.30am. Believe it or not, without training i manage to run the whole length non stop and in under an hour. As happy i am now, there are lots of ladies in front of me who finished first...lol.

Now the Amazing inspirational true story of a runner...

I have the privilege of being a friend of this 'Iron Lady' of Labuan who practiced running before going to work as well as after work, everyday, day in day out. She really likes to run...i guess it is her hobby, but there was a little more than that. She wants to Win, not for glory, not for pride, not for celebrity, she Wins for her Children. Yes, she is running for her children, she wants to win just to have an additional income ensuring her children having the basic necessities in life. Nothing fancy, just to have them get the best education, covering any medical expenses and some food on the table. How inspirational is that...a Mothers Love is limitless. Imagine that, running the entire time and thinking of her children...it's truly motivating and gives you that extra strength to win the race.

Everyone must be wondering, where is the children's dad? He is also working in a different place and with both of them working is just enough to break even on the monthly expenses they have. It's true that the living cost of today is tremendous and sometimes mind boggling. Imagine 20 years ago, we just boiled water from the tap and drink it. Now, we pay for the water we drink.

I am happy to say that she Won this race and got First Place, she won MYR500 and what really touches my heart is when she says 'At least i could cover the cost of my child transfer to the school near me'. One of her child is schooling near her dad's place, but as you know...a mother knows best and wants all her children near her.

Well, that's the story i wanted to share to you today...that life is a challenge, it is how you face it that makes the difference.

Me in shock knowing that its 8 kilometers run and not 8 meters...lol (and of course just woke up)

The Medal I won...(no cash...lol)

Till the next run...Steem On...
