Farewell, the Ether: KIK intends to transfer its ICO TOKENS to the STELLAR PLATFORM

As reported by coindesk.com, on Wednesday the head of the company Kik Ted Livingstone confirmed that the company intends to abandon the broadcast. From now on, its Kin token network will run on the Stellar platform.

The founder of the company explained the solution to the fact that, among other things, the blockade of the air, on which the application is based now, does not correspond to the level Kin needs. According to him, the solution is to switch to the Stellar currency operations platform, launched in early 2014. Its creator is Jed McCaleb, one of the founders of the Ripple crypto currency platform.

Livingston went so far as to call the "blockchain computer-era" aired, noting that gas prices that must be taken into account in calculations, as well as other transaction fees, should be built into the application, without which users can not carry out transactions.

MOBILE MESSENGER OPENS NEW ERA BLOKCHAIN

For the first time, Kik announced that it is considering the possibility of moving to another blocking platform in October. Then the company's representatives said that the problems with the volumes peculiar to the air make it "not the most successful decision".

On Wednesday, Livingston said that Kin would push the boundaries of what the ether can handle, with its approximately 10,000 users. According to the head of the company, the reliability of the network is another factor in the planned transition. Speaking of reliability, Livingston remembered the recent network congestion caused by the popular CryptoKitties application.

Livingstone explained:

"Stellar was created by people from Ripple. This platform has one convenient characteristic for us - it is adapted for an application such as Kin. This is different from the ether, which, it can be said, is trying to be everything for everyone, which makes it multifunctional and slow. "

According to Livingstone, over the next few weeks, Kik will test the scalability and reliability of Stellar:

"This platform exclusively focuses on the task it is trying to solve: providing a large number of people with fast, reliable and inexpensive transactions."

According to the representative of Kik, by the end of December the application will be available only to a limited number of users. In part this delay is caused by overloading due to CryptoKitties.

Livingston suggested that the tests will be successful, after which, in the second quarter, the application based on Stellar will be introduced to the broader market for all users.

Friends, and how do you feel about KIK? Is there any chance that it will be a substitute for the broadcast?
