Can you run an air conditioner on an off grid solar setup? It's not impossible as some may think! It requires a well designed and well sized system. Lithium Ion batteries are a huge step up from old style AGM lead batteries, but you could save some money by using lead batteries and move up to Li-on batteries when they get a bit cheaper! Prices have been falling while power is increasing thanks to Tesla cars and other electric vehicles pushing the boundaries of possibility with their research and development programs. You could of course couple this kind of setup with wind and hydro power also or a combination depending on your local environmental conditions.
