How to make a great image of yourself

Introduction

One should always strive to achieve the best they can be. This also means you must be able to show the best version of you, be it online or in real life. Many however cannot portray their true capabilities in public scenarios. This is where a few tips and tricks can help. One should always dress appropriate to the part and then have 1-2 additional accessories. This trick will put you ahead of the crowd as you are meant to be. One should also use proper body language and facial expressions. The last thing you want to do during the middle of an important conversation with your boss is to show signs of disinterest. Finally, you need to always speak with confidence, but more importantly, you mustn't forget that silence is your friend, always.

Why Shut Up?

Silence speaks. Use it to sound more confident. If you have nothing to say, then don't start a tangent conversation. You must be comfortable with the silence. Once you are, you take the power of the conversation into your hands, you become the dealer and you just dealt an uncomfortable card, the question then becomes whether the play will break. This creates an incredible image of confidence and power every time you talk. If you tend to lose your train of thought during your incredible speech, this trick can also come to good use. Do not use "umm" but rather use silence, it shows an intense train of thought and maturity. You will want to use the art of silence in order to show that you are comfortable and confident.

How to use Body Language

You expect people to walk into your business if your open sign is on, you expect trick-or-treaters to go away if your lights are turned off, and yet, you do not understand the power of body language? Your body is the door to the public, don't close it during business hours and don't leave it open during personal time. Things like crossing your arms, sitting with closed legs, putting your hands in your pockets etc. are all the body language of a person who is not to be engaged with. AKA, it sends the message that her or his doors are closed. Don't do this when your whole goal is to have people socialize with you and do business with you. In fact, consider leaving your hands open and out, it informs others that she or he is open to conversation. Try sitting straight and just think open. Use these tips to create the image you wish to create about you to others around you.

Look Clean

Dress appropriately for the occasion, despite the weather. You may have always heard about never underdressing to an event, but you may not be familiar with its counterpart advice. Do not overdress. As you may recall my fourth tip in my "4 real tips for success" article ('https://steemit.com/success/@hersh1498/4-real-tips-for-success'), do not outshine the master. This applies here. You do not want to look prettier than the bride, you do not want to look like the boss during a staff only meeting, you do not want to look like the Dean talking to your professor. It will often make you look more "full of yourself" and narcissistic rather than well prepared. It will often draw upon the jealousy of your peers and maybe even your higher up in the situation. Rather just stick to the most common dress code and wear 1-2 extra chat worthy accessories. It will still make you look a bit more prepared but not overkill. Also, you will have a great conversation starter on your person. For guys, I recommend a watch and nice wallet. For women, any form of jewelry or a purse will often do the job. Never add too much sugar in your coffee.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, in order to create a better image of yourself, you should pay attention to your attire, your body language and most importantly, your speech. Dress appropriate and do not overkill to avoid those jealous looks from your peers. Make sure you present yourself as either open or closed similar to a store to make sure you get the right amount of attention you expect, and finally if you have nothing else to say...
