Family fun at the Zoo in Ho Chi Minh City

Last Saturday we went to the zoo here in Ho Chi Minh City. It was great fun for the whole family! Lots of different animals to see and the tickets were only 2,5$ so it's definedly a bargain. You can easily spend 2hours in there for just walking around and looking the animals. But if you want combine it with having picnik lunch at park area there, like many of the local families do then it can easily be a whole day trip with the kids.

Of course the biggest animals like the Rhinos, Elephants and Tigers are the most impressive ones to see, but we also enjoyed a lot for looking the Peacock showing it's colorful feathers, Otters swimming and diving around their pool and some monkeys showing their tricks.

But I have to say that the stars of the day were the Giraffes! What a kind and magnificent animals they are! And what an amazing surprice it was that you could feed these gentle giants, they had ready made slices of carrots for the visitors to give to them and they seem to like carrots a lot, hahaha! The first time was little bit scary, cause they are so massive creatures! But as you can see on this short video clip, that they don't try to bite your whole hand of, but just use their surprisingly long tongue to swipe the carrots in their mouth. Great fun and a great experience :)

I can highly recommend the zoo for a good time with the family, but it can be a VERY crowded place on Saturdays and Sundays! So if you the possibility to go there during the week, then that's definedly a better and more satifying option.

Even my 2 years old daughter was brave enough to hand over some carrot slices to these huge animals <3
