Let me introduce you to Brandhy, she is 5 years old. It's a mix of Cocker and Poodle ... or so we think.
Adopting a pet was the best decision we have made in the family, changed our lives and believe me ... we changed hers.
She belonged to a small litter of poodle puppies. We adopted her when she was only a couple of months old, she was very small and delicate.
Ignorant people tend to cut off the tails of dogs, which is wrong ... She had a thread tied in her tail so that her tail fell, never happened, now her tail is a dead tissue that is icing. It's a shame ... his tail would be more beautiful than it already is. Can you imagine putting a thread on your finger and waiting for it to fall? It is something similar.
Anyway ... She slept with me that first night, in a basket, rolled up like a wrap.
She cried all night, I could barely sleep. The next day, when I arrived from classes, my parents told me that Brandhy (the name we had planned even before he got home) was full of ticks. We take her immediately to the vet. Brandhy was already showing symptoms of anemia. It improved with many medications and care. Now she is healthy, with us, the family that rescued her.
Brandhy became the darling of the house, the sister I never had. Every night when my parents arrived from work, we sat next to her on the floor of the room. Indirectly Brandhy made a much closer link within the family. Together with her we commented on experiences during the day, if we did well or badly, solutions for certain personal problems and stop counting.
We decided to sterilize her when she was 6 months old, before her first heat, something that very few people agree because they do not know its benefits. We decided it more than anything because we thought about those dogs that I would have ... Who would we give them to? If she had 5 puppies, maybe only one would take good care as she had ... In short, sterilization is a very complex issue which I will leave for another time.
Currently Brandhy is a ball of hair and ... fat. He gained a lot, product of sterilization. But she maintains a fairly balanced diet and does a lot of exercise ... she's still chubby.
It remains a strong link between the whole family. "Brandhy ate?" "Did you change her water?" "How is Brandhy?" "What does the "gordita" (chubby girl) do?" are the questions that we do or do every day.
Brandhy sleeps with my parents every night, in the middle of them, as if it were a girl of his age, and it will stay that way, I hope forever.
