The Passing Of A Friend Of A Friend

Forgiveness is the key that unlocks one's soul.
It makes it easy to breathe, to grow and to live.
Unspoken, it is an evil more powerful than the deed itself.
Revealed, it is the light of the world and the birth of a new heart.

This morning I read a poignant post by @dandays that told of the tragic and unfortunate passing of his friend Chris.
A friend of @dandays is a friend of mine.
There's not much I can say other than I feel your sadness .

Sometimes we find a way to blame ourselves for what we could have done to make things different, but the best thing we can do is forgive ourselves in order to share the love that is desperately needed by those who have lost so much.

I wrote a note which was read at the services for @dandays mother, a love of my life....

We tried too hard for it not to have made a difference:
Love was too deep for it not to have eased a bit of pain.
Like fishermen on a blustery lake, we set sail against the rage:
The calm onshore was always our nemesis.

How is it that little details in life are like tiny particles of a dust ball: cluttering dreams : confusing vision : disguising goals.
We allowed these bits of dust to multiply until they became mountains : boundaries that should never have existed : walls that should not have been built.

May my tears wash those mountains away.
May I live as I would that you would have lived.
May all of our sins be forgiven.
Breathe in...breathe out.
Fill me with what I can and cannot understand. Give me hope.

Your dreams are now truth...mine are merely dreams.
I only dream of truth : mine is a world of uncertainty.
I feel you laughing at me...Sixty some years old and I'm still lost...
Temporarily

Oh, we'll meet again in that place where nothing really matters yet each grain of sand has it's own unique presence.
My days here are numbered, yours there are eternal...or so it seems to me.

The vail is fragile.
The loss of life is as mysterious as the gift of life itself
Cherish it while you have it because it can end in an instant.
Rest in peace Brother Chris
