How Steemit Could Solve Goa's Rubbish Problem

I have been in Goa in southern India for a few weeks and one of the main problems here is the amount of plastic and rubbish that seems to pile up by the day. I often pick up any that I see on the beach and put it in the newly added bins that have been provided, however it is never ending task and this of course is is also a big problem throughout the world.

The government is making some steps to alleviate the problem although it is inevitably incapable of fully addressing the issue.

Goa has also become a popular destination for India's middle class who come from the big cities such as Mumbai. They are here to relax and have a good time and rubbish disposal is not high on their priorities. Most people drink bottled spring water which comes in plastic bottles and you see them everywhere.

Recycling

It got me thinking, if people were paid to clean it up it and deliver it to a recycling centre it could get done in no time! Recycling equipment and machinery is also now very cheap and accessible.

Rewards

With the advent of social media and crypto the collection of rubbish could be monetised as it would be welcomed by the community and be rewarded. There would also be the end product after recycling which could be used for many things such as housing material for example.

Anyone administering such a project would also stand to profit. Nothing gets done without a value reward and in this case it would be a win win for the rubbish collector, the organiser, the social network and the environment.
