Today, in 1996, Tupac Shakur died after six days of coma

Tupac Shakur's deadly attack occurred in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 7, 1996, when the american rapper was hit by four bullets, one of which pierced his right lung, shot from a white Cadillac while Tupac was standing at a traffic light after attending a boxing fight between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon. He died after six days of coma on September 13, 1996.

It was also known that Tupac often wore a bulletproof vest on public occasions, but did not wear it that day due to the hot temperatures in Las Vegas and the great control over firearms in the city, which would have had to be a further security guarantee.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and Compton Police, although they have never officially solved the case, initially concluded that Shakur had been hit by the Southside Crips (one of the most famous gangs in the Los Angeles area) after Tyson's fight. Hypothesis subsequently officially denied, even though it was never set aside. The actual murderer was never found.

Even today, after over twenty years since his death, Tupac hasn't been forgotten and on June 16, 2017 (Shakur's 46th birthday if he was still alive) the movie "All Eyez on Me" was distributed in the US.

“Death is not the greatest loss in life,” Tupac once said. “The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive. Never surrender.”
