During the Second World War, British passenger ships SS Sagayong drowned in Japan's air strike. The ship was recovered after 75 years of drowning. Sri Lanka's Navy lifted the shipwreck and flew again. The country's Defense Ministry confirmed on Saturday it had confirmed.

The BBC's news has said that Sri Lankan Navy has finished the rescue operation for several months. During World War II, a British ship carrying a bomb attack was launched in 1942. The 452-foot ship near the local Trincomomel harbor was sinking.
