“WE WON’T MISS THE BLOCKCHAIN REVOLUTION” – FRENCH FINANCE MINISTER

 The French Finance Minister, Bruno Le Maire set a positive tone during the G20 meeting in Argentina concerning cryptocurrency and blockchain and wants his country to be in the world leaders, according to an interview with Numerama.

Le Maire stated that France is one of the top countries regarding crowdfunding and blockchain and asked:  “So why stop there?”As he mentioned, he doesn’t want France to miss what he has called “The Blockchain Revolution.”

Finance Ministers from different countries expressed their fears of the risk that cryptocurrency represents for the global economy. However, Mark Carney stated that there is no risk for the global economy with cryptocurrencies.

France’s Finance Minister also believed Bitcoin was only the beginning of the blockchain revolution and many other innovations are to come.He is also opened and interested towards Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), but he mentioned he wants to develop “an effective legal framework,” according to the interview.

Jean-Pierre Landau, the former Bank of France Deputy Governor will take charge of this project.

“France has every interest in becoming the first major financial center to propose an ad hoc legislative framework that will allow companies initiating an ICO to demonstrate their seriousness to potential investors.”
