Wake-up Call: An Organization That Is Bringing Mental and Self Awareness To Nigerian Youths

It was amazing having a set of beautiful people to actually talk to about things that affect human lives in general. I was able to understand that they are things that are beyond giving alms to people, like people need to be truly empowered in area of mental capacity.

It is just not enough for you to give something to people then turn back, you don't give them fish you need to give them or teach them how to fish as well. So about 3 weeks ago Thinkerspool probably was invited by Wake-up Call. This is a student organisation that was created to actually bring about mental awareness, empowerment and capacity building to youth in general irrespective of your sex and age, one of the pioneers said something that really got my attention. She said

impacting people mentally is worth more than giving them material things that they can live on.

So at a point, we discussed about how they can make the organisation very much self-sustaining so that they can implement quite a lot of projects without having to stress the pocket of the members. Perhaps if you have been looking for an organisation to join and brainstorm with like minded individuals, I will recommend that you check out Wake-up Call on facebook and check when they will be having their meeting and be a part of them in Ilorin, Nigeria.
