Brick in the wall

Don't you think it's odd how we spend so much of our childhood in a classroom? I mean really think about it. In America you are intended to spend 13 years in our modern education systems if you include pre schooling. Alright great! So now we must have a society full of amazing thinkers, entrepreneurs, musicians and creators right? Depends on how high you hold your standards.

Obviously somewhere we went wrong. All you have to do is look to your favourite social media tool and you can see that not only do we have a lack of understanding of the english language, but we lack the basic fundamentals of communication skills as well. Its not that you don't know how to talk, it's just that conversations as a whole have been dumbed down. Instead of talking about quantum physics or about how to create a business for yourself or astrology or the conquests of Alexander the great we talk about football. Cool, I used to play it but I feel like there's a lot more to talk about, why does it feel like some people are afraid to expand their minds?

Maybe it has something to do with cognitive dissonance or the fear of what is not understood, but for the love of all that is good is it really that important to fit in with everyone else? Be yourself. Love who you are. Be independent. Dare to be brave! I love you Steemians! The time is now! The world is ours!
